When purchasing a product or a service it is good to know what
other services are available so that you can be more confident that
you are receiving the best product and service for your money.

What does the competition offer?

Ready-made Frozen Meals:

Many grocery shops and the like provide a wide selection of ready
made frozen meals which convenient and easy to prepare. This
being said, the quality of the ingredients are not comparable to
home made cuisine.
If at all, the emphasis in regards to healthy eating is placed on the
fat or carbohydrate content of the foods, because that is part of what
concerns the majority of the population. Little or no mention is
made of the preservatives, such as salt, which are in some cases
increased to replace the missing 'taste' in foods with reduced fat,
and account for large percentages of the recommended daily intake.

Supperworks:

At Supperworks you can either go and prepare your meals yourself,
or go an pick up ready made meals. Either way you have to invest
the time.

For 12 entrées you pay $294. Basically, $24.50 / entrée.
If each entrée serves 6 people this breaks down to $4.08 / serving.
If each entrée serves 4 people this breaks down to $6.13 / serving.

If you want smaller serving sizes there are extra charges. $15 for
splitting 12 entrées into 24; your cost is now $6.45 / serving.

If you don't have the time to go in and prepare the meals, and you
want to have the meals ready made there is a $40 surcharge.

Bringing your total cost up to $334 for 12 meals (serving 4-6 people),
and $349 for 24 meals (serving 2-3 people).

The ingredients are fresh, and the meals are considered home made
quality, but flexibility of the ingredients is limited. Meals are
prepared to meet the needs and suit the tastes of a general audience.

What From Sarah’s Shelves offers:

With From Sarah’s Shelves, the only time you need to invest is the
time it takes you to decide what you and your family would like to
eat. After that, everything short of reheating the meals when you
require them is done for you. Most clients are working while the
meals are being prepared, and when they come home, everything is
cleaned up and their freezer is full!

Because
From Sarah’s Shelves charges for the service provided, and
not by the entrée, some people may think it costs more. If we break
it down to cost per serving, we can compare.

Most clients spend between $120 to $150 for groceries, add to that
$175 for the service, and (optional) $25 charge for grocery shopping
and your total cost is between $320 to $350. Now break it down to
cost per serving;

From 7 menu selections you can receive up to 12 entrées of each
selection. There are no extra charges for varying the portion sizes.

7 selections x 12 entrées of each is 84 entrées; $4.16 / entrée.
If each entrée serves 2 people (168 servings), your cost per serving is
$2.08 / serving.

7 selections x 6 entrées of each is 42 entrées; $8.33 / entrée.
If each entrée serves 4 people (168 servings), your cost per serving is
$2.08 / serving.

You get home made quality meals, using fresh ingredients, with the
added flexibility of being able to alter most meals to suit
your tastes
or dietary requirements.
